I know she only turned 3, but I feel like she is all grown up. She's not my little baby girl any more. She chose the theme for her party and was so excited about picking out the decorations. She decided early on that she would have a pinata at her party also. Since we live in a house now and do not have the luxury of having our apartment pool, we had to think of something fun for a bunch of little princesses and princes to do. We decided that since our sod hadn't been laid in the backyard yet, that a bounce house would be the perfect choice! Since it is so hot outside and we didn't want little burning toesies we went with a water slide bounce house! It was a blast. Here are more than enough pictures to show you a little about the day...
Daddy and Aubrie built some wood siding early that morning so that little feet wouldn't become muddy feet and so they would be directed towards the bounce house.
We had corn dogs and quesadillas (daddy cut each one with a cookie cutter to make them into cute shapes), requested by Princess Aubrie, and of course fruits, veggies, chips and 7 layer dip, jello boats, and cupcakes.
This picture doesn't show it, but Aubrie was spoiled with so many great gifts!
Favors: Swords, Wands, Tiaras
The water slide made the bumps super slippery, but I think they all had fun slip and sliding around!
Cute little Rapunzel (Madi) showed up dressed so adorably!
Her mini cake that she blew out the candles on. Sooo... the humidity here was a little crazy and the cotton candy melted 3 different times when I put it around the cake and on top of the cupcakes... hence the sticky purple stuff on the plate! It still tasted good at least.
Luke was there. :)
Please SERIOUSLY excuse my scary face in this picture... it's the only one I have of her with her cake right after she blew out her candles!!
Pinata time!
The daddy with his pinata contraption.
Waiting to get their candy!!
Present time!
Aubrie got so many fun gifts. She was beyond thrilled with them all.
Every single time she opened a present she would say "I knew it!!" before she even saw what it was. It was so stinkin cute.
She splashed around in the bounce house again in the afternoon and again that night for a little bit!!
The picture on the bounce house was a little ghetto... but i thought it would be funny to look back at later! Ha! The company was newer and had great prices, but they still haven't bought too many pictures for the bounce houses... so we got this rad "girl thing" one! ;)
We love our little Aubrie girl so dang much. She continues to grow sweeter and sassier each day and we obviously can't get enough of her. She says the funniest things and she can melt your heart just by looking at you. She gives the sweetest kisses and shows concern for the smallest of "ouchies" and quickly runs to help with a bandaid. We feel blessed to have her i our lives. We sure did get lucky to have such an amazing, smart, beautiful little girl come to our family!!
Side note: She started school two weeks ago... so much to update about that and pictures to come. For now I will give a quick (more or less) update. She has the sweetest teachers- Mrs. Russell and Mrs. Fish. She knew their names before she started school and remembered them as soon as she met them. She was the class leader the first day of school! She was really excited and continues to ask when it will be her turn again. She loves snack time and always makes sure to bring home a little bit of her snack so she can have some on her way home. It's all good though if she doesn't because she always knows I will have some sort of snack when I get her (uh-oh what am I doing to myself here!?!) -like the popsicle she got on her first day... they have been healthier options since that day! She loves "playing" which is what she tells me she does everyday when I ask what she did at school! She can say a few parts of the Pledge of Allegiance already. She has made some adorable art projects- a kissing hand (handprint with poem), a paper bag raccoon, a paper bag house (with 3 windows and a door) with our address on it, and a fruit loop necklace. She goes to a body rhythmics class and today when I asked what she did in there she told me, "wiggled!" We love the school she is at! I knew it was a good decision on the first day when I picked her up and her first words to me were, "Can I come back to school Mommy?!!" I hope she continues to carry on that attitude... since she has a long ways to go!! We are so proud of our little school girl! :)
oh my gosh ash!! everything turned out so great!! seriously, that is the cutest party. aubrie is so lucky. :) wish we could have come!! :)
